Larry G. Evans, age 77, passed into the hands of God on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2009, after a long illness with Parkinsons Disease. He was born in Yancey, Texas on August 8, 1931 to Aubrey and Viola Evans. Larry was a member of the Black Creek Baptist Church in Devine, Texas. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Uvalde, Texas where he served as Worshipful Master for a 2 year period. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jo Ann, two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie Davis and her husband, Bob, of New Braunfels, TX and Pegi Coker and her husbaná, Bob, of San Antonio, TX, Larry is also survived by his four beloved grandchildren, Taylor Davis and wife Lorelei of San Antonio, TX; Cassie Rocha and husband Michael of San Antonio; John Coler of San Antonio and Beth Ann Coker of San Antonio. He also is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Ray Raymond of Yancey, TX and his 98 year old mother, Viola. He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Darlene Porter and husband, Jack, and Bonnie Mikes, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a younger brother who died in infancy. Whenever he was able, he always enjoyed and made it a point to attend the annual Bohmfalk and Faseler reunions since his roots and family meant a lot to him. Larry's most recent home was in New Braunfels, TX where he moved to b 11 near one of his daughters. Larry was an avid "42" domino player. He enjoyed watching football and basketball and loved to hunt in his younger days. Graveside services will be held in Yancey Cemetery Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Rest in peace, daddy. Your spirit has been released to a loving God and your painful symptoms are over. You were a brave man. Although you will be missed, your memory will always be with us.
