Lawrence Edward "Bud" Vannatta of the Hondo/D'Hanis area passed away Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015. He was 85. Born Feb. 4, 1930, in Alexandria IN, he was the son of Walter W. and Nellie B. Bebout Vannatta. He retired as a Master Sergeant 29 Feb 1968 after 20 years of honorable service in the United States Air Force. Bud is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, W. Howard Vannatta, Harold V. Vannatta and Robert H. Vannatta; and sister, Velma L. Wells. Survivors include his wife of almost 64 years, Betsy Ann Ulrey Vannatta; daughter, Kathy Irene (Mark) Griffin of Bandera; son, Larry E. (Kathy) Vannatta of Grand Prairie; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Elsie M. Vannatta of Anderson IN. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. at the Guinn-Horger Chapel, followed by interment at Ft.
