Leonarda Garcia Guerra of D'Hanis, Texas, passed away February 7, 2006, at the age of 84, in Hondo. She was born April 18, 1921, in D'Hanis, the daughter of Aniceto & Martina (Muñiz) Garcia. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Pedro T. Guerra; sister-in-law Carolina Garcia; brother-in-law Ascencion Alvarez. Leonarda is survived by her daughter Henrietta Fernandez and husband Alberto A. of D'Hanis; grandson Alberto Fernandez, Jr. of Uvalde, Marcus Fernandez of Sacramento, CA; granddaughter Vanessa Marie Fernandez of D'Hanis; great granddaughter Angelita Celeste Fernandez of Uvalde; sister Pascuala Garcia of D'hanis; brother Emilio Garcia of D'Hanis; sisters Paula Treviño and husband David of D'Hanis, Manuela Rodriguez and husband Alejos of D'Hanis, Louisa Alvarez of D'Hanis, Blanca Garcia of D'Hanis. The Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr Wallis Stiles, will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday February 4, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis. The pallbearers will be Hector Garcia, Indelcio Villa, Jr., Patrick Perez, Paul Garcia, Arturo Campos, Joe Hernandez. Interment will follow in San Francisco Cemetery in D'Hanis.
