Leslie Eugene Batteau, age 58, of San Antonio passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015, after battling cancer. Born June 28, 1956, in Hondo, he was the son of Jesse James Batteau and Ima Jewel "Judy" Johnson Batteau. Known by his friends as Poochie, he attended Hondo schools. He was a utility construction machine operator and loved fishing, hunting and riding motorcycles. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Audrey. He is survived by his wife, Paula Young Batteau; son, Leslie Batteau Jr., and daughter, Laurissa (Mike) Lampkin, of Dallas; three grandchildren; sister, Anita (Thurmon) Cotton of San Antonio; and brothers, Elton Batteau of Hondo, Charles Batteau of Baytown, James Batteau of Hondo, Joseph (Linda) Batteau of San Antonio and Stephen Batteau of Las Vegas NV. Visitation will be Thursday, May 21, 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 22, at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel. Private interment will be at a later date.
