Lester M. Zerr, age 88, of D'Hanis passed away Jan. 12, 2003, in San Antonio. He was born in D'Hanis on May 24, 1914. Lester was a retired transport dispatcher with Southern Pacific Transport. Survivors include his wife, Lorine J. (Turner) Zerr of D'Hanis; sons, Donald M. Zerr and wife, Lillie, of San Antonio and Warren Zerr and wife, Jeri, of New Braunfels; daughters, Beverly Traugott and husband, Chris, of San Antonio, and Linda Klekar and husband, Larry, of Garden Ridge; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Scott; brother, Sam Zerr, both of D'Hanis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Teresa (Nester) Zerr; brothers, Arnold V., Daniel A. and Bill Zerr; sisters, Corine Koch and Isbel Wall. Pallbearers were Jacob Cartwright, Katie Cartwright, Valerie Zerr, Kelly Zerr, Chad Klekar and Robbie Klekar. Rosary was at 10 a.m. and Funeral Mass was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Wallis Stiles officiating. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery, D'Hanis.
