Lillian Annie Bendele Martin of Hondo passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at the age of 88.

Born in Devine, Jan. 28, 1932, she was the daughter of Levi Louis and Theckla Ida Theis Bendele.

Lillian retired as housekeeping supervisor after  25 years at Medina Community Hospital. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilkes Otto Martin; son, Lynn Ray Martin; daughter, Peggy Martin Clark; grandson, Keith Jason Martin; sister, Viola Hoover; and brothers, Louis Bendele, Leo J. Bendele and an infant.

Survivors include her sons, Bruce (Patricia) Martin of Hondo and Richard (Jessica) Martin of San Antonio; daughter, Melinda Martin of Hondo; son-in-law, Robin Clark of Uvalde; daughter-in-law, Wanda Martin of D'Hanis; 11 grandchildren,  21 great-grandchildren; sister, Annie Hutzler of LaCoste; and brother, Levi Bendele Jr. of Colorado.

Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 25, 6 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Chapel.

Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m.Tuesday, Jan. 26, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. and interment at Yancey Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
