Lillie Jane Koehler of Hondo, 86, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Born May 1, 1930, in Ozone, Arkansas, she was the daughter of John and Rachel Zumbalt Butler. Her family moved to Medina, TX, when she as an infant and she grew up in the Medina and Bandera area. She married Samuel John Koehler and they lived in Bandera, later moving to Hondo. They had two children, Samuel and Gloria, and she spent most of her time as a homemaker, raising their family. She loved the Lord, growing flowers and working outside. Later in life, she enjoyed country life and taking care of cattle. Lillie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel John Koehler Sr.; and son, Samuel John Koehler Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Koehler of Hondo, and several cousins. At her request, private inurnment is planned.
