Linda Belle Saathoff Weber of San Antonio, 91, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Born in San Antonio, Sept 30, 1924, she was the daughter of Jessie James "Jake" Saathoff and Melinda Oefinger Saathoff. She married Richard Weber on May 12, 1946 and they lived in Hondo, Encinal, Cotulla and finally in San Antonio since 1965. She joined the Methodist Church shortly after marrying and was a faithful member of St. John's United Methodist Church of San Antonio since 1965, dedicating much of her time to church-related projects and events. She and Richard were members of a dynamic Sunday School group that worked church projects and partied together for years. Both participated in the Walk to Emmaus. She and Richard hosted and attended frequent family events with siblings of both and their ever growing families. She loved to bake and cook, particularly pies, cakes, cookies and candies, work in her yard, look at wildflowers, dote on her grandchildren, volunteer at church activities, walk for exercise, read, travel and party with her church group and family. She was a meticulous bookkeeper and a tireless home maker who always worried more about others and doing things right than her own welfare or desires. She was heavily involved with her children and their activities as they grew up, always encouraging them and reminding them to eat good meals and get adequate sleep. Her cards for birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions always arrived timely and in her distinctive and strong handwriting. She and Richard liked to travel, many times taking long road trips just to see the sights. Elections always brought a discussion with Richard as to who they would vote for so as not to cancel each other out. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Richard Weber and her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Weber. Survivors include her sons, Richard Galen (Jo Pringle) Weber of Uvalde and James William (Carolyn) Weber of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Linda Susan (Alvin) Goodman of Mart, TX; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and their children; and sister, Mary Joyce "Bubbles" Saathoff Conring of San Antonio and her family. Visitation will be Monday, May 23, from 6 to 8 pm at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 24, at 10:00 am at New Fountain United Methodist Church, 2980 FM 2676, Hondo TX 78861, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery. The family suggests donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
