Lola Richey Scott, age 90, of Utopia passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011. She was born Sept 17, 1920, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Edward Bertram Richey and Eulela Marie Williams Richey. While living in Corpus Christi, she was a swimming instructor. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Bryan James Scott; and sisters, Barbara Richey, June Bledsoe and Gloria Wenger. She is survived by her daughter, Marie Marks and husband John of Utopia; sons, Ed Scott of Utopia, Doug Scott and wife Judy of Goliad, Leonard Scott and wife Cindy of Sandia, Jim Scott of Port Hope MI, and Bert Scott and wife Sarah of Utopia. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A memorial funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 22, at Utopia Methodist Church with Pastor Chuck Crane officiating. Service will conclude at the church.
