Lorenza Mendoza Cuellar of Hondo, Texas, went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2006, at the age of 80. She was born September 5, 1925, in Hondo, the daughter of Juan & Maria Ignacia (Sanchez) Mendoza. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Trinidad Cuellar, Sr.; son Trinidad Cuellar, Jr.; brothers Encarnacion Mendoza, Pasqual Mendoza, Juan Mendoza, Jr., Nasario Mendoza, Sr., Ramon S. Mendoza, Vidal Mendoza; sister Maria Rosa Guajardo. Lorenza is survived by her son Filimon "Freddie" Cuellar and wife Michelle of Hondo; daughters Dora Perkins of Lubbock, Leonor Thomas of Hondo, Delia Carrera of Salem, OR, Lorenza Ventura and husband Jose of Hondo, Hortencia Feick of Hope Mills, NC; 22 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren. The Rosary was Wednesday, June 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Funeral Service, was Thursday, June 22, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Pallbearers were Thomas Cuellar, Michael A. Cuellar, Joseph Cuellar, Juan C. Carrera, Estevan Bernal, IV, Jonathan Cuellar. Burial followed at the Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
