Lorine F. Haby of Hondo, passed away January 8, 2003, in the Regent Care Center Nursing Home in San Antonio, at the age of 83. Mrs. Haby was born June 6, 1919, in San Antonio. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. She is survived by daughters, Loretta Griffin and husband, Tony, of San Antonio, LaVerne Davis and husband, Jim, of New Braunfels, Dianna Kowalik and husband, Alvin, of Selma; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; brother, John Hoffman of Rio Medina; sisters, Lucille Wurzbach of Castroville and Mabel Gussen of Meeker, CO. Pallbearers were Richard Schweers, Harold Keller and her grandsons, Keith Davis, Kevin Davis, and grandsons-in-law, Chris Schultz and Terry Gleason. The Rosary was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, followed by the Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church with Rev. Jeff Pehl officiating. Entombment was in the St. John Mausoleum in Hondo. The family suggests memorials be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.
