Lorine Lucille Stiegler, age 100, of Hondo passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, in Cotulla. Born April 21, 1914, in Hondo, she was the daughter of Paul and Augusta Hartung Koch. She was a loving homemaker, accomplished in sewing, crocheting and quilting, and an excellent cook. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Lorine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Melvin August Stiegler; brothers, Randolf Koch and Stanley Koch; and great-granddaughter, Emily Lorine Kelly. Survivors include her daughter, Thelka Lucille Mary Wengenroth and husband Claude; son, Charles John Stiegler and wife JoAnn; four grandchildren, Cindy Few and husband Mike, Barbara O'Brien and husband Tom, Mary Kelly and husband Jim, Melvin Stiegler and wife Jennifer; 12-great-grandchildren, Charles Few and wife Chayo, Susan Few, Christina Ayala and husband Paco, Brian Stiegler and wife Kari, Thomas Kelly and wife Kayla, Joseph Few, Jeremy Stiegler, Charles Stiegler, Justin Stiegler, Thomas O'Brien and Megan O'Brien; six great-great-grandchildren, JoAnn Guzman, Elijah Segovia, Harley Few, Savanna Stiegler, Henry Ayala and Darren Stiegler; brother, Osborn Koch; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 4, from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 2 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. Pallbearers were Joseph Few, Justin Stiegler, Thomas Kelly, Brian Stiegler, Jeremy Stiegler, Charles Stiegler and Charles Few.
