Lorine Anna Taylor of Hondo, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 9, 2007, at the age of 92. She was born in D'Hanis, Texas, July 12, 1914, the daughter of Alfred A. & Annie Regina (Finger) Zinsmeyer. A native of D'Hanis, Lorine moved to Hondo following her marriage to Tony Taylor. She was a devoted mother and wife. She cared for her two children while her husband served in the South Pacific in the Navy in World War II. She worked as a clerk and sales representative for E. R. Leinweber Company department store and as a cook for Brown's Nursing Home. She worked as a seamstress for years, performing alterations for Veda Finger, owner of V Finger's Fashions. She also performed alterations for many other happy customers across Hondo. She was a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she was an active member of the Altar Society and the Martha Club. She never asked for anything for herself, but loved and gave of herself to all she knew, most especially to her children and grandchildren. She spent hours happily entertaining her children, grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends at her home, which was always well supplied with a wide assortment of refreshments and treats. She was an excellent cook and baked delicious cakes and pies. She had a keen sense of humor and wit that made her an excellent listener and conversationalist. She had an opinion on most matters, and was not afraid to share it. In her later years, she enjoyed playing Rook with her friends and driving around Hondo with Hedwig Kollman to keep an eye on things. Toward the end, she longed for her reunion in heaven with her mother, "Mudda" Zins-meyer. Based on her faith in Jesus Christ and her life of selfless service, her family is sure that she is enjoying that reunion now. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tony Travis Taylor; grandson Mark Taylor; brothers, Martin Albert Zinsmeyer, Raymond J.
