Lorine Josephine (Turner) Zerr passed away on Friday, March 7, 2008 at the age of 88. She was born May 30, 1919, in Sabinal to William and Ursula (Koch) Turner. Lorine was married for 62 years to Lester M. Zerr, who preceded her in death in 2003. Also preceding her are sister, Geneva Loran; and brothers, William, Clarence, Milton, and Leonard Turner. Survivors are her children, Donald Zerr and his wife Lillian of San Antonio, Beverly Traugott and her husband Chris of Bigfoot, Linda Klekar and her husband Larry of Garden Ridge, and Warren Zerr and his wife Jeri of New Braunfels. Lorine leaves behind six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Huser and husband Hilary of Blanco and Patsy Norwood and husband Sherrill of Beaumont; and brother-in-law, Sam Zerr of D'Hanis. An avid fisherman who relished spending days on the Seco with her grandchildren, Lorine also loved her flowers and hummingbird feeders, and she was never one to turn down a game of Rook. She lived her life in service to her Lord through her acts of love and kindness to all who crossed her path. A rosary will be offered at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D'Hanis, on Monday, March 10, at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, D'Hanis, immediately following the mass. Pallbearers are Robbie Klekar, Chad Klekar, Eric Duffin, Valerie Zerr, Kelly L. Zerr, and Warren A. Zerr. Memorials may be made in her name to Country Care Manor, 2736 FM 775, La Vernia, Tx. 78121.
