Lorraine Ortiz DeLeon, age 22, of Thorndale, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at St. David's Hospital in Round Rock. She was born Sept. 16, 1986, in San Antonio, to Antonio and Marilyn DeLeon. Lorraine was an employee of T. Don Hutto Residential Center, serving as a secretary. She was a graduate of Thrall High School and a graduate of Everest Institute, having earned a degree in Medical Assisting. She is preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Maria C. Huron; grandfather, Leandro Ortiz; grandmother, Romana DeLeon; and uncles, Felix DeLeon and Henry Ortiz. She is survived by her parents, Antonio and Marilyn (Ortiz) DeLeon; sister, Priscilla DeLeon, all of Thorndale; grandmother, Delia Ortiz of Castroville; grandfather, Manuel DeLeon Sr. of Yancey; the love of her life, Frank Chavana; and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who love and care for her dearly. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Holy Cross Catholic Church and Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment will be at San Francisco Cemetery, D'Hanis.
