Lucia G. Alcaraz of Hon­do, 90, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025, at her home with her children by her side.

Born Jan. 24, 1935, in Hon­do, she was the daughter of Nicolas and Guadalupe Ruiz Garcia.

Lucia and Pascual A. Al­caraz married May 1, 1955. They had been married 62 years when he passed away in 2017. A loving mother dedicated to her family, she enjoyed having her family around at all times.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pascual Alcaraz; son, Elias Richard Alcaraz; brothers, Ramon and Ernesto Garcia; and sister, Maria Dominguez.

She is survived by her daughters, Becky (Alfredo Rodriguez) Perez of San Antonio, Rachel (Alfredo Camacho) Al­caraz, Mary Ida (Robert) Rodriguez, Priscilla (Joe Gonzales) Alcaraz, Christina (David Jr.) Barrios, and son, Gilbert Alcaraz, all of Hondo; daughter-in-law, Susan Alcaraz of San Antonio; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia R. Garcia of Hondo; and brother, Juan Garcia of Bastrop.

Visitation at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church will be Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 9:30 a.m., with recitation of Ro­sary at 10:00 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
