Lucia G. Hernandez of Hondo, Texas, went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2006, at the age of 84. She was born December 13, 192`, in Hondo, Texas, the daughter of Jesus D. & Maria Inez (Gomez) Hernandez. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Dionicio Hernandez, Valente Hernandez, Simon Hernandez, Juan Hernandez; sister Petra G. Hernandez. Lucia is survived by her sisters Refugia Saucedo of Hondo, Maria G. Hernandez of Hondo, Sara Garcia of Ogden, UT. The Rosary was Thursday, May 4, at 7:30 p.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass, was Friday, May 5, at 2:00 p.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The pallbearers were Elias Hernandez, Arturo Hernandez, Jesse Hernandez, Jared J. Leyva, Gilbert Alcarez, Armando Hernandez, Ken Hernandez. Interment followed at the Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
