Obituary

Lucille "Lucy" Knight Wilson of Hondo, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 25, 2007, at the age of 93. Lucy was born on May 31, 1914, in Avery, Texas, the daughter of H. H. & Mabel H. (Hardman) Knight. She taught in the public schools for 43 years. She was active in the Order of the Eastern Star for over fifty years, an active member of the First United Methodist Church, the MCECA - Medina County Exceptional Children Association and an ardent member of the Hondo Art League. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer Wilson; brother, H. E. Knight; sisters, Hazel Baker and Arden Barrier. She is survived by her daughter, Paula Claire Moore of San Antonio; son, John Robert "Johnny" Wilson of Hondo; grand-daughter, Dana Claire Ruppel of San Antonio; great-great grand-children, Jordan Claire Ruppel, Joshua David Ruppel, and Jacob Henry Quintanilla all of San Antonio. The Funeral Service was held at the First United Methodist Church in Hondo on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. The casket carriers were Johnny Wilson, Jimmy Hall, Josh Ruppel, Mark Nester, Ralph Gilliam, Mike Finger. The honorary casket carriers were Edwin "Buck" Barrow, Clyde Parsons, Cyril Van Damme, Duane Strother, Bud Woolls, Jim Tomey, Glenn Garrison. The Burial Service followed at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
