Louis Fedencio M. Escamilla, age 86, of Hondo passed away Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015. Born Jan. 12, 1929, in Hondo, he was the son of Luis L. and Isabel Muñiz. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elvira A. Antu Escamilla; infant son, Jesse; grandson, Augustine; brothers, Efrain Escamilla and Juan Escamilla; and sister, Sophia Decker. He is survived by his daughter, Mary E. (Manuel) Moncada of Hondo; son, Luis Guadalupe "Lupe" Escamilla of D'Hanis; 11 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Oscar (Lucy) Escamilla of Kerrville; and sisters, Belia (Pete) Aguilar of Austin, Tillie (Efrain) Abrego of Austin, Julie (Vicente) Morales of San Antonio and Ayda (Camielo) Carranza of Taylor. Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 24, both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
