Lupe Reyes Ytuarte of Hondo and San Antonio passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021. She was 92.

Born in Hondo, June 2, 1928, she was the daughter of Mauro and Enriqueta Dominguez Reyes.

When she was young, Lupe worked at Buster Rath Auto Parts. After moving to Del Rio for a time and then back to Hondo, she opened an upholstery shop, which they later remodeled into Ytuarte's Mexican Restaurant on Hwy. 90. She loved to sew, dance, visit casinos and host gatherings with her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eduardo "Wayo" Ytuarte, Jr.; sister, Guadalupe Reyes; brothers, Narciso "Chicho", Abel, Jose, Gilberto, Juan, Felix and Francisco "Pancho" Reyes; and son-in-law, Hector Vasquez.

Survivors include her daughter, Maria Teresa Vasquez of San Antonio; grandchildren, Michelle Palacios, Jennifer Vargas and Hector Edward Vasquez.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 5, 6 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Chapel, with Rosary recited at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be Saturday, Feb. 6, 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
