Manuel Duran III, age 69, of Hondo passed away Friday, Jan. 29, 2016. Born June 26, 1946, in San Antonio, he was the son of Manuel Jr. and Aurora Sandejo Duran. A laborer, fork lift driver and packer at Universal Rundle, he retired after 42 years. He is preceded in death by his father; brother, Manuel Duran II; and granddaughter, Andrea Margarita Duran. He is survived by his mother, Aurora S. Duran; wife, Olga Ramirez Duran; son, David Duran; daughter, Jeanette (Nicolas) Montonaro; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and brother, Rudy (Sandy) Duran; and sisters, Amparo (Arnulfo) Garcia, Irene (Victor) Gil and Elsie Taylor, all of Hondo. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. and a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 1, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. Pallbearers were Freddy Garcia, David Cuellar, Frank Rodriguez, Ishmael Smith and Jamie Fernandez. Honorary pallbearers were Raul Villarreal and Daniel Fernandez.
