Margarita Ramos Ramirez of Hondo, 88, passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016. Born in Sabinal Feb. 22, 1928, she was the daughter of Francisco and Juanita Duran Ramos. She was a homemaker, a loving wife and mother, and a dedicated member of First Mexican Baptist Church in Hondo. Margarita was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Aurora Rios; and in-laws, Efrain Escamilla, Concha Ramos, Linda Ramos and Frank Rios. Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Jose S. Ramirez; sons, Robert (Delia) Ramirez of San Antonio and Ruben (Sandra) Ramirez of Hondo; daughters, Nelda (Hank) Cortez of San Antonio and Diana (Robert) Rodriguez of Hondo; six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Eudelia (Efrain) Escamilla and Maria Escamilla, both of Hondo, Adelina (Daniel) Rupp of Ohio; and brothers, Salvador Ramos, Frank (Anastacia) Ramos and Jose Ramos, all of Ohio. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 5, 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Hondo. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. Pallbearers are Michael Paul Rodriguez, Daniel R. Rodriguez, Ruben Joe Ramirez, Zakry R. Ramirez, Mike R. Rodriguez, Rhonda Ramirez Rehr. Honorary bearer is Jennifer Contero.
