Maria Alvesa "Bessie" Garcia, age 57, of San Antonio, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007. She was born on Mar. 8, 1950, in Mercedes to Leonardo and Alvesa (Valdez) Garcia. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Genaro Garcia. She is survived by daughters, Graciela "Gracie" (Lopez) Garcia and husband Marty and Lamar (Lopez) Cabrera and husband Fernando; five grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Ramona Garcia, Elia Garcia and Leonardo Garcia Jr., all of Amarillo, Maria Elena Garcia of Flint MI, Patricia Garcia of Corpus Christi, Paul Garcia of San Antonio, Trinidad Garcia, Andy Garcia and Millie Garcia, all of Lansing MI, Anthony Aguero and Virginia Aguero, both of Borger, and Thelma Garcia, Butch Templeton, Alice Templeton, and Jerry Templeton, all of Weslaco. Funeral service at First Baptist Church, Hondo, on Saturday, Oct. 6, at 3 p.m., was led by Pastor C. Ross Chandler and John McAnelly. Casketbearers were Ernst Garcia, Jay Garcia, Paul Garcia, Cameron Uranga, Blake Uranga, Butch Templeton, David Zamora and Ed Zamora. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
