Maria L. Gomez of D'Hanis, Texas, passed away October 31, 2005, at the age of 83. She was born February 12, 1922, in LaCoste, the daughter of Jose & Manuela (Cantu) Lopez. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fidencio A. Gomez; son Oscar J. Gomez. Maria is survived by her daughters Erlinda Gonzalez and husband Pete of D'Hanis, Sofia Contreras of D'Hanis, Gloria Gutierrez of San Antonio; brothers Frank Moreno fo LaCoste, Rudy Moreno of Ft. Worth; sister Alicia Gutierrez of San Antonio. The Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr Wallis Stiles, will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday November 3, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis. The Pallbearers were James Cuellar, René Contreras, Michael Cuellar, Marcus Gonzalez, Isaac R. Gutierrez, Eloy R. Gutierrez. Interment will follow in San Francisco Cemetery, in D'Hanis.
