Maria G. Hernandez of Hondo, Texas, went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2006, at the age of 80. She was born November 29, 1925, in Hondo, Texas, the daughter of Jesus D. & Maria Inez (Gomez) Hernandez. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Dionicio Hernandez, Valente Hernandez, Simon Hernandez, Juan Hernandez; sisters Petra G. Hernandez and Lucia G. Hernandez. Maria is survived by her sisters Refugia Saucedo of Hondo, Sara Garcia of Ogden, UT. The Rosary was Monday, August 21, at 7:00 p.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass, was Tuesday, August 22, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The pallbearers were Armando N. Hernandez, Arturo N. Hernandez, Elias Hernandez, Juan N. Hernandez, Albert S. Hernandez, Carolina H. Gallardo. Interment followed at the Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
