Maria De Jesus (Herrera) Gallegos, age 65, of Hondo passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010. Born Feb. 16, 1945, in Salinas, Coahuila, Mexico, she was a daughter of Jose M. and Maria (Paredes) Herrera. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Guillermo "Willie" Gallegos; daughter, Maria Margarita H. Gallegos; sister, Sylvia Rosas; and brother, Hector Herrera. She is survived by her husband, Guillermo "Willie" Gallegos of Hondo; daughter, Edna P. Trinidad of Hondo; grandchildren, Jacqueline and Jennifer Martinez, Jillian Garcia, Jicelle Gallegos, all of Hondo, Kalie and Janel Gallegos of San Angelo, Bianca, Sebastian, Estevan, Diego and Mercedez Trinidad, all of Hondo; sisters, Juanita Rodriguez of Eagle Pass, Santa Escamilla of Piedras Negras, Diana De Leija of Arlington, Jose Herrera of Baytown, Homero Herrera of Eagle Pass, Jorge Herrera of Houston and Rolando Herrera of Green Bay, WI. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. and Rosary at 7 p.m. will be held Tuesday, May 4, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 5, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
