Maria Olivia Pargas of D'Hanis, age 82, passed away, June 29, 2011. Born April 2, 1929, in D'Hanis, she was the daugher of Sisto and Telesfora Acuña Pargas. She was a homemaker. Maria was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Senaido B., Luterio, Ramon, and Isidro Pargas. She is survived by her daughter, Blanca Garcia of D'Hanis; brothers, Ernesto Pargas of Pecos, Santiago "Jimmy" Pargas of New Mexico, Joe Pargas of D'Hanis; and sister, Maria Pargas Tovar and husband Guillermo Jr. of San Antonio. Funeral service was Friday, July 1, 10 a.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Pallbearers were Robert Tovar, Carlo Ybarra, Jason Rodriguez, Vincent Tijerina, Joe Esquivel and Leon Matsuzaki. Interment was at San Francisco Cemetery, D'Hanis.
