Marianne Bendele Snyder, age 95, of D'Hanis/Hondo passed away Saturday, Apr. 2, 2011. She was born Aug. 15, 1915, in Hondo, the daughter of Edwin F. Bendele and Kayie (Haller) Bendele. She was a homemaker and was retired from the shipping department of Medina Ag Products. She is preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Helen Burrell Bendele; husband, Jack Snyder; son, Charles Lawrence "Larry" Snyder; siblings, Wesley Bendele, Keitha Schomberg, Mary Lee Lutz, Edra Fessman, Walter H. "Cotton" Bendele and Harry Freeman; nephew, Mike Freeman; and nieces, Sandra Kay Bendele and Mary Linda Schomberg. She is survived by her son, Daniel Michael Snyder and wife Gudrun of Hutto; daughter, Rebecca Ann Snyder of Austin; granddaughters, Teresa Koch Davis and husband Ron and Michelle Koch, all of San Marcos; grandsons, Andrew Snyder of Reno NV, Charles L. Snyder Jr. of Texarkana, Mario Sassano and wife Jennifer of Austin; great-granddaughters, Izabella Sassano of Austin, Kendall Lancaster and husband Joe Salazar of Kyle, and Kara Davis of San Marcos; great-grandson, Christopher Lancaster and wife Eden of North Pole, AK; great-great-grandson, Loki Salazar; nieces and nephews, Sarah Gray, Helen (Bill) Halliburton, Charleen (Clyde) Schuehle, Wm. "Gizmo" (Susan) Freeman, all of Hondo, Rodney (Milly) Freeman, of D'Hanis, Kitten (Mike) McNeil of San Antonio, Sharon (Dan) Baumgartner of Rhome, Jo Lynn Schomberg of Converse, Linda (Barry) Voigt of Austin, Wesley Jr. (Acelia) Bendele of Bulverde. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Apr. 5, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Pallbearers were her nephews, Rodney Freeman, Wesley Bendele Jr.; great-nephews, Blaine Freeman, Kevin Halliburton, John Halliburton; and grandson, Mario Sassano. Interment was at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
