Marilyn (Jennings) Nester, passed away Sept. 11, 2008, at the age of 77. She was born Aug. 15, 1931, the daughter of Leslie Samuel and Velma (Schmedt) Jennings. She earned a bachelor's degree and taught grade school in Hondo and Sabinal for several years. A dedicated wife and mother, she also was bookkeeper for Nester's Supermarket for 20 years and for the family ranching operation. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert E. "Bobby" Nester. Florine is survived by her children, Mike Nester and wife Peggy of Hondo, Pam Putnam and husband Chip of Boerne, and Scott Nester and wife Gini of Buda; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Sharon Hogan of Plano. Visitation was Sunday, Sept. 14, at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. The funeral service was at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 15, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund, Medina Community Healthcare Fund, or the charity of one's choice.
