Martha Dominguez Gonzales of Hondo was called to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 13, 2019. She was 81. Born in Hondo, Dec. 21, 1937, she was the daughter of Jose F. and Candelaria Velasquez Dominguez. Martha retired from Hondo ISD as attendance clerk at Woolls Elementary. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jose V. Dominguez. Survivors include her husband, Jose C. Gonzales; son, James (Pat) Gonzales; daughter, Deborah San Miguel; Sharayah Gonzales, Darren Gonzales, Rey Cabrera Jr., Joseph Gonzales and Aaron San Miguel, all of Hondo; sister, Eva Arcos of Hondo; and brothers, Salvador Dominguez of Beeville and Benny Dominguez of Corpus Christi. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 16, 5 to 7 p.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 17, 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery.
