Marvin Joe Robertson, age 64, of Hondo passed away Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, after a battle with brain cancer. He was born July 11, 1942, in Hondo, the son of Vernon and Frances (Embrey) Robertson. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Marvin J. "Jody" Robertson II. Marvin was an artist and musician. He was an aircraft quality assurance manager and worked 34 years for Fairchild Aircraft and three years for Sino-Swearingen Aircraft. He is survived by his wife, Arline Robertson of Hondo; son, Michael John Robertson and wife Michelle, of Las Vegas; stepchildren, Tricia King and husband Jeff of Elmore OH, Melisa Custer and husband Allen of Boston MA, Manuel Arreche II of Port Clinton OH, and Michael Arreche of Sandusky OH; brother, Bobby Charles Robertson and wife Jimaree of Luling; and aunt and uncles, Mary Belle Majors of Concan, Joe Embrey and Arthur Lee Embrey, both of Hondo, and Charlie Embrey of San Antonio. Funeral service was held Saturday, Aug. 19, 10 a.m., at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Quihi, with Pastor Stephen Schur officiating. The casketcarriers were Willie J. Allen, Robert Reed, Lynn Haby, Paul Williams, Jim Embrey, Wesley Scott, Greg Magers. Interment was at Quihi Cemetery.
