Obituary

Mary Ann (Parker) Arp, age 67, of Uvalde passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2013. Born in San Angelo, Nov. 2, 1945, she was the daughter of Joseph and Ruby Lee (Earnest) Parker. Mary Ann attended school at Camp Wood and worked at West Texas Utilities of San Angelo in the 1970s as the first female meter reader. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Melvin Parker. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, James Thomas Arp of Uvalde; daughter, Cindi Crawford and husband George Henrichson of Big Wells; son, Tom Arp of Las Vegas NV; daughter, Angela Willis and husband Scott of Del Rio; son, Jeff Arp and wife Tammy (her special daughter-in-law) of Uvalde; 11 grandchildren, Jamie, Jessica and Ryan, Amanda, Haley, Aaron, Sydney and Brittany, Jace, Shelton and Shane, Garrett and Brittany; and four great-grandchildren, Emma, Mia, Ayden and Ada Lyn. Also left to remember her are lifelong friends, Barbara Kizzar, Faye Nicholes and Ellen Comer; many nieces and nephews; and hospice nurse, Barbara, whom she grew to love. Memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Uvalde. The family suggests memorials may be made to Hospice of Uvalde.
