Mary Lorene (Weaver) Cason of Hondo, Texas, passed away September 27, 2005, at the age of 89. She was born March 10, 1916, in Brownwood, the daughter of Lee & Jenny (Jenkins) Weaver. Mary was the last of nine children. She had five brothers and three sisters. The Weaver family lived on a farm and all the children helped with the daily chores on the farm. Mary always told stories of the skills she learned on the farm - milking the cows, gathering the eggs and helping with the garden. As she grew older, she even had to pick cotton!!! Mary married Bernard D. Cason better known as "B.D." on January 18, 1937, and began her new life as a wife, mother and wonderful homemaker. Mary and B.D. had two children, and three grandchildren. The Cason's moved to Medina County in 1951 and B.D. went to work for Texas Avaiation Industry. Mary was a talented seamstress and could make any dress Sue liked if she could just show her a picture! Her home cooking was the very best and she could make a great meal at short notice out of just about nothing. She loved her family and she loved the Lord. She lived out her faith and devotion to B.D. by taking care of him for nine years after he had a stroke. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son Johnny B. Cason. Mary is survived by her daughter Sue Cason Woolls and husband "Butch" Clayton of Hondo; grandchildren Dan Woolls of Hondo, Gina Woolls of D'Hanis, Steve Woolls of San Antonio. The Funeral Service, officiated by Frank Perkins, will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday September 30, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home in Hondo. The casketcarrriers were Scott Porter, Steve Woolls, Dan Woolls, Tommy Taylor, David Taylor, Newell E. Woolls, Jr. Interment will follow in Hondo Cemetery, WOW Section.
