Mary Luella Edwards Zdeb's Obituary
Mary Luella Zdeb, age 93 of Hondo, went to be with our Lord July 13, 2021.
Born September 29, 1927, in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of John and Jeannette Edwards.
Mary touched the lives of many who came to know her, as well as those who may have crossed her path throughout her years. Deeply loved and cherished by her family and friends, she always had a smile to share. She also loved her family deeply and unconditionally. This love shone brightly through her loving heart and generous disposition.
Mary loved to joke around and make everyone laugh. The simple things in life gave her great pleasure. She loved nature and enjoyed the trees and plants as if they were a part of her soul. Sometimes you could even catch her talking to the trees! Playing her organ, listening to 40s music, and eating desserts were some of her favorite things. At the mention of dessert, a big smile would break out on her face. She was often known to say "she never met a dessert she didn't like."
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank J. Zded; sons, Brian, Gary and Thomas Zdeb; and sister, Nellie Kuro.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet (Mike) Weems of Hondo; son, Richard (Sandra) Zdeb of Round Lake, IL; grandchildren, Justin and Adam Zdeb of Mt. Dora, FL, and Jonathan (Amber) Weems of Millstad, IL; great-granddaughter, Riley K. Weems of Millstad, IL; daughter-in-law, Diane Zdeb of Mt. Dora, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in her hometown of Chicago.
