Mary Esmeralda Torres of Hondo, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at the age of 58. Mary was born on February 11, 1949, in Hondo, Texas, the daughter of Francisco & Candelaria (Antu) Torres. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jose Roberto Torres, Francisco Torres, Jr., Alfredo Torres; sister, Alicia Torres. Mary is survived by her sisters, Dolores Tapia of Hondo, Linda Guajardo and husband Arnold of Hondo, Hilda Castro of Hondo; brothers, Richard Torres and wife Mary of Hondo, Eric Torres and wife Delma of Hondo, Oscar Torres and wife Dorothy of Hondo; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Visitation will be at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Thursday, November 8, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., with Fr. Ken Dakin, officiating. The pallbearers were Bobby Torres, Eddy Guajardo, Steven Tapia, Daniel Moncada, Joey Tapia, Eric Torres. The honorary pallbearers were Kimberly Torres, Joshua Nira, Doris Rangel, Jeremy Torres. Burial Service followed at the Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
