Mary Louise Martin Heiligman of Hondo, 85, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024.

She was born Dec. 8,  1938, in Yancey, a daughter of Henry Anton and Ella Irene Neuman Martin.

Mary  worked as a teller at Hondo National Bank for more than 20 years. She was dedicated to her family and her church. She enjoyed working with her hands and crocheted many items for Wraps of Love. She also served her church family in many other ways as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 58 years, Leroy Heiligman; and siblings, Henry A. Martin Jr., Wilkes Otto Martin and Vernell Remmler.

Survivors include her children, Judy Whitley, Joy Sanderson (Nat), Rodney Heiligman (Dottie), and Terri Pearce (Ron); grandchildren, Pamela Villalobos (Izzy), Nick, Derick and Heather Anthony, Kassidy and Olivia Heiligman, Ryan and Leland Carnes, Tobe Whitley, Matthew Pearce, Stacie and Rick Lewis; and great-granddaughter, Kayla Villalobos.

Visitation on Saturday, August 3, will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at New Fountain Methodist Church, prior to the service.

Celebration of her life will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by interment at New Fountain Cemetery.
