Mary Jo (Rios) Torres, age 72, of Hondo passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2007. Mary Jo was born May 14, 1935, in Hondo, the daughter of Ignacio and Petra (Galan) Rios. She was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jose Roberto Torres in December 2002; daughter, Rebecca Cuellar on Nov. 18, 2007; brothers, Victoriano "Victor" and Frank; and sisters, Felicia Gonzales, Sabas Moncada, Ignacia Sandoval, Frances Dominguez, Petra Rios, Bernadine Rios, Trinidad Rios, and Sister Philomena Rios. Mary Jo is survived by her sons, Joe Robert "Bobby" Jr. and wife Veronica, John Jeffrey, and Carlos Ignacio and wife Sandra; daughters, Paula Marie Torres and Senida "Sally" Torres, all of Hondo; son-in-law, Johnny Cuellar of Sealy; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister, Sirilda Leyva of Hondo. Rosary will be recited on Sunday, Dec. 23, at 7 p.m. and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m., both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo. Burial will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
