Mathilda "Tillie" John Weynand, age 91, of D'Hanis passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012. Born Jan. 29, 1921, in Seguin, she was the daughter of Oscar Gustov John and Mathilda (Pankau) John. In 1928 they moved to Sabinal where Tillie grew up. She worked for a time in San Antonio until she and Jake Weynand were married on Oct. 5, 1946, and she became a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wallace Jacob "Jake" Weynand; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ferdinand (Helen), Paul, Martin (Mae), Frank (Ena), Edward (Milbie) and Herman (Anne) John; and sister, Frieda John. Survivors are her daughter, Leona Koch and husband Charles of D'Hanis; son, Marvin Weynand; grandchildren, Justin Koch and Theresa Schueling and husband Jonathon; and brother and sisters-in-law, Ludwig "Luke" John and wife Frieda of San Antonio and Lillie John of Selma. Visitation will be Friday, Apr. 27, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. with Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D'Hanis, Saturday, Apr. 28, 10 a.m., followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The pallbearers were Justin Koch, Jonathan Schueling, Ken Lorenz, Joel Weynand, Mike Weynand, Ray A. Wolff.
