Maurice Henry Nester of San Antonio, age 87, passed away November 2, 2003. He was born October 21, 1916, in D'Hanis, Texas, to the late Henry and Ella Brown Nester. Maurice was a farmer and rancher until he retired at the age of 65. After his retirement, he sold his farm in D'Hanis and moved to San Antonio where he resided until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emma Laura (Rudinger) Nester; brothers, Oscar, Ervin, and Herbert Nester; sisters Lorine Lanford and Stella Grinder. He is survived by sons, James Alan Nester and wife Claudia of McQueeney and Richard Lee Nester and wife, Pamela of Del Rio; daughters, Norma Jeanette Lundberg of San Antonio; Carol Jean Easley and husband, Vincent of San Antonio; Dorothy Elaine Deason and Gary Deason of San Antonio; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; brother, Otis Nester and wife, Myra of Ozona; sisters, Ruth Ney and husband, Bill of Hondo; Ruby McIntire of Georgetown; Darlene Freeman and husband, Byron of Sabinal; and Charlene Saathoff and husband, Hugo of Hondo. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Alan D. Lundberg, Vincent M. Lundberg, Vincent C. Easley III, Todd R. Easley, Michael S. Haynes and Richard Lee Nester, Jr. Visitation was Tuesday, November 4. The Funeral Service was held at 2:00 P.M..Wednesday, November 5 at Guinn-Horger Funeral Chapel in Hondo with the Rev. Joe Walts, of San Antonio, officiating. Burial was in W.O.W. Cemetery, D'Hanis.
