Obituary

Maxine (Mayfield) Leinweber, age 89, of Uvalde, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013. Born April 12, 1924, near Sinton, she was the daughter of John Clinton Sr. and Mary Frances (Nelson) Mayfield. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer Leinweber; brothers, Preston "Tony", Gerald Lee and John Clinton Jr.; and sisters, Marjorie Mayfield, Lily Ann Yett and Kay Taylor. Surviving are her sons, Timothy J. Leinweber of Colorado Springs CO and Mark Allen Leinweber and wife Wren of Uvalde; grandson, James Leinweber of Corpus Christi; great-grandson, Christopher Leinweber; step-grandchildren, Alton, Robin and Christopher; five step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Joy Sexton of Corpus Christi. Visitation will be Tuesday, 5 to 7 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Chapel in Hondo. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. Bearers were James Leinweber, Christopher Leinweber, Chris Goetzel, Stanley Wilson, Tracy Yett and Paul Schmidt. Honorary bearer was Randy Johnson. The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
