May Ross (May Medora Lively Keeter Ross) passed away on May 9, 2012. The youngest of 3 girls, she was born on February 9, 1929 in Fort Worth, TX to Lewis Preston (Papa) and Mary Louise (Mamie) Lively. She married Dr Lauriston Neil Keeter in 1953 and had five children prior to his death in 1965. In 1969 she met Bob Ross on a ski lift, they married 6 weeks later and remained happily married for over 43 years. Always an adventurer, May touched many lives living in Kingsville, San Antonio, Dallas, Austin, Worms - Germany, Litchfield Park - AZ and Hondo, TX. She loved having the entire family at her home for holiday dinners and sharing her recipes with family and friends. May had a long, blessed and fruitful life and was known by family and friends as a woman of faith. Her faith in Christ provided the strength for her life and her hope for heaven. One of her favorite verses is in John 14: "Do not let your heart not be troubled....I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you", which to her meant that death is not the end of life, but the door that must be walked through to a greater and more glorious life. May is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings (Sisters, Jane Stewart and Louise Martin Grebe). Survivors include her husband, Robert Pat Ross of Hondo, TX; Son, John Preston Keeter (Linda), Austin, TX; Son Andrew Neil Keeter (wife Sharon), Twin Falls, ID; Son James Scott Keeter (wife Gloria), Houston, TX; Daughter Mary Jane Journey (husband William), Prosper, TX; Son David Allen Keeter (wife Alicia), South DeFuniak Springs, FL; Daughter Jenny Beth Ross, Woodworth, LA; Eleven beloved grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
