Melba Jean Kunz Scott Bynum, age 72, of Hondo passed away Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014. Born in San Antonio, July 14, 1942, she was the daughter of Elgin Benjamin and Mabel Lena Klein Kunz. Melba was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, George William Scott and Nolan Bynum; twin granddaughters, Hailie and Katie Scott; and brother, Larry Kunz. Survivors include her son, Elgin "Willie" (Becky) Scott of Hondo; daughter, Cheryl "Dee Dee" Scott Kastner of San Antonio; grandchildren, Garrett, Harper and Lauren Scott and Gibson Kastner; and brothers, Danny (LeeAnn) Kunz of Port O'Conner and Roger (Vicki) Kunz of Watagua. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 20, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be Friday, Nov. 21, 11 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hondo, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
