MELROSE JOY MARIE (TSCHIRHART) BENDELE, age 91, was born on February 8, 1932, in Castroville, TX. She passed away on her 91st birthday on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.

Melrose is survived by her sons, Larry Michael Bendele and wife Rosemary, Douglas Hilmer Bendele and wife Susan; daughters, Deborah Marie Williams and husband Dennis, and Barbara Ann Applebee and husband Hal; nine grandchildren, Michelle Hewitt and husband Paul, Brandon Bendele and wife Nikki, Kevin Bendele and wife Erin, and Devona Minica and husband Brandon, Kristi Stryk and husband Joey, Lori Williams and friend Darcey Deisch, Jake Bell and wife Rachel and Jeffrey Kraus and wife Jennifer, and Ryan Bendele and wife Heather; and 18 great-grandchildren, Haley and Logan Hewitt, Karsyn and Brody Bendele, Kaspian, Korbin, Kale and Koen Bendele, Sadie and Connor Minica, Justin and Joshua Stryk, Tyler and Colten Bell, Emma and Travis Kraus, Abigail and Samarrah. She is also survived by one brother, Alex Joseph Tschirhart,

Visitation will begin on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 5:00 PM to 8:00PM at Mission Alamo Funeral Chapel, 624 N. Alamo, San Antonio, Tx. 78215 with a Rosary to begin at 7:00 P.M.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 11:30 A.M. at Holy Name Catholic Church, 3814 Nash Blvd., San Antonio, Texas 78223. Interment will follow at Hondo Cemetery at approximately 1:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be several of Melrose's great-grandsons.
