Merced G. (Chela) Rendon of Hondo, 93, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019. Born in Hondo, July 18, 1926, she was the daughter of Juan and Leonarda Guerra Rendon. Merced was single. She worked at the Medina County Nutrition Center, delivering meals to county seniors. Upon retiring, she attended LaEstrella Adult Day Care until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Baldomero Rendon, Santiago Rendon, Guadalupe Sanchez, Teresa Sauceda, Estevan Rendon and Elicia Coronado. Cherishing her memory are many nieces. nephews, extended family and caregivers. Visitation at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo will be Tuesday, June 18, from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. and Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
