Michael "Mike" Bali, age 93, of Hondo passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009. He was born Dec. 20, 1915, in South River, NJ, the son of Michael Joseph and Elizabeth (Mezaros) Bali. A moldmaker foreman, Mike retired from Universal Rundle in 1980 and consulted until 1995 at the age of 80. He was an avid golfer and in his early years was a race car driver. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank Bali; and grandson, Thomas Moore. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Margaret "Marge" (Fielder) Bali; son, Michael Bali Jr. and wife Ginny of Amarillo; daughters, Betty Moore of Terlingua, Catherine Yuracka and husband Joseph of San Marcos, and Theresa Aelvoet and husband Andrew of Hondo; grandchildren, Tina Teweleit and husband Russ, Jeff Bali and wife Anja, Stephanie Moore, Brandy Dummulet and husband Etienne, Megan Aelvoet and Drake Aelvoet; and great-grandchildren, Ryan and Lukas Bali and Lindsay and Matthew Teweleit. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger Chapel with Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
