Mildred Naomi Gilbert of Helotes, Texas, formerly of Hondo, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 12, 2007, at the age of 91. She was born in Tacoma, WA, September 12, 1915, the daughter of William McKennie "Ken" & Leatha (Byron) Welch. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Arthur "Charlie" Gilbert; brothers, Neil Welch, and an infant brother; sister Bonda McAdams. Mildred is survived by her daughters, Gloria L. Rule and husband George of Hondo, Georgia D. Schweers and husband Harold of Hondo, Mary Martha Mathews and husband Jack of Helotes; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Vivian Riden of MI. The Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday May 14 at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home and the Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday May 15, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. The Pallbearers were George Rule, Gary Rule, Shawn Whitley, George Ross, Freddie Graff, Charles Burrell. The Honorary Pallbearers were Colin Rule, Adam Rule, Felipe Villarreal, Jory Crisp, Lee Homlett. Burial will follow in the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
