Mildred Marie Martin Goffinett of Hondo, 96, passed away Monday, June 18, 2018. Born in Hondo, May 31, 1922, she was the daughter of Fritz A. Martin and Annie Jane Muennink Martin. Mildred graduated from Hondo High School in 1939 and married G. K. Goffinett in 1940. They had one son, Kelder, in 1942. She worked as a civil servant at Lackland AFB until she retired in 1985. After retirement, she traveled and was active in her church in San Antonio. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family in Hondo. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Charles F. Martin and John William Martin. Survivors include her son, George K. (Gloria) Goffinett of Hondo; grandchildren, Brooke Goffinett (Ramon Bernal) of Hondo and John Goffinett of San Antonio; and two great-grandchildren, John Kelder Goffinett Jr. of Florida and William Fritz Bernal of Hondo. As per her wishes, no service will be held. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
