Mildred was a very independent woman, she loved her family and her little dog Boo. At a young age she started out helping her mother who ran the switchboard out of their home. She learned the switchboard, how to sew, and how to be a fashionable woman. She even won a beauty contest! She was a true "Modern Millie."
She went to college and became an accountant. She took her work so seriously that there were a few nights that she stayed up until the wee hours of the morning to find just one penny. Her reputation was to be admired. Her home was always meticulous as she practiced order and cleanliness. She valued her friends and family and will be sorely missed by many.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section in Hondo.
