Mildred Christene (Edwards) Wharton of Hondo, Texas, passed away January 4, 2004, in Hondo, at the age of 88. She was born in Enloe, Texas on August 24, 1915. She is preceded in death by her parents: David Cleburne "Clebe" & Mary Rebah Mae (DeWitt) Edwards; husband Lloyd Mial Wharton; brothers: David Kendall Edwards, Hollis Leroy Edwards, Charles Edwin Edwards, Archie Lee Edwards; sisters: Bessie Earlene Keller, Charlote Annette Holmes, Mamie Marie Edwards, Mary Ellen Edwards, Betty Lou Edwards. She is survived by her son: David N. Wharton and wife Victoria L. of Hondo; grandchildren: Jennifer Christene Wharton and Michael Robert Wharton both of Hondo; sisters: Sue Elizabeth Lohn of Kerrville, Rachael Kathleen Saludis of Kerrville, and Jo Nell Rook and husband Olas N. of Downey, CA. The visitation is scheduled from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 and the Funeral Service is scheduled for Thursday, January 8, 2004 at both at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. Pastor Beverly Slusher from the First United Methodist Church in Hondo will conducted the Funeral Service. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm in the Wharton family cemetery near Kerrville, Texas.
