Monica Lynn Martin Serrano of Natalia, formerly of Hondo, passed away Wednesday, Apr. 3, 2024.  She was 44.

Born Mar. 22, 1980, in Corpus Chisti, she was the daughter of Bruce Wayne and Catherine Lonette Davis Martin.

Monica accomplished many things in her life but was more willing to give them to others than retain them for herself. She bore the heart of a lion and the stubbornness of a mule. The love she held for her children was the most selfless love. She gave herself for them even if it pained her heart. She never let anyone go hungry or without shelter. Her humor dampened any sadness in the room and her smile was bright enough to wake up the sun.  Her greatest accomplishment is her children that are still changing the world!

Her father and her sister, Christy Martin, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her mother, Catherine Martin; children, Alexis Jade Serrano, Deonte Alejandro Serrano, Antero Juan Serrano, Autumn Rain Kendall, Kylee Rose Kendall and Jessie Joleen Kendall; grandson, Atlas Alejandro Serrano; and brothers, Bruce W. Martin (Darlene), Jason L. Martin, Paul A. Martin (Erica) and Richard W. Martin.

Service was held Sunday, April 7, at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel, Hondo.
